The Tail of Emily Windsnap is about a normal girl that lives in a boat. She never got to know her dad. When Emily tries to talk about her dad with her mom, she avoids Emily and cries. Her mom has a really close friend, but Emily thinks that he is weird, he knew Emily's dad in the past. Her mom hates water so Emily never did swimming, even if she wanted to. Emily really wants to go to swimming an she convinces her mom to let her. On her first day of class, when she is swimming, she enters in the water and her feet turn into a tail. Emily discovers that her dad was a merman and she looks for him at the sea. She gets to know the sea rules and, she discovers that her dad is in jail because he talked to a human. She tries to find her dad and never gives up, even if that will cost some weeks in jail. What do you think is going to happen? Is Emily going to find her dad?
